Jack Yatsko, Chief Operating Officer i Clubhouse International
“Clubhouses help members to do that and in effect, make society better.”
Why do you think Clubhouse is important to members and the society?
I often hear members say, “My Clubhouse not only changed my life, it also saved my life.” That one sentence encapsulates what Clubhouses are for over 100,000 members in over 300 Clubhouses in 32 countries across the globe. Clubhouses have a profound impact in helping people who have experienced a mental illness reintegrate back in society through the worlds of work, school, housing and friendships. Clubhouses are important to society as well because people who have experienced a mental illness are first and foremost, people who have skills, abilities and talents to contribute to the larger society. Clubhouses help members to do that and in effect, make society better.
How many times have you been at our clubhouse in Oslo? And how was it to be here?
I have been to Fontenehuset Oslo sentrum on several occasions, most recently for the Clubhouse International World Seminar held in 2019. It was a wonderful experience and your Clubhouse is one of our world leaders as an international Training Base.
Congratulations you are president for one day. What would be your main focus for mental health.
